Japanese Knotweed Specialist Services

Knotweed Management provides control and containment services for land affected by Japanese Knotweed.
Because Japanese Knotweed is officially a "controlled waste", its treatment and removal have to meet strict environmental, health and safety laws and guidelines and codes of practice.
As well as advising clients of the extent of their knotweed problem and how to manage it, Knotweed Management also:
- liaises with relevant public bodies sub-contractors, site agents and professionals relevant to the control of Japanese Knotweed on the site
- provides health and safety policy for the control on site
- supplies COSHH essentials if required (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) for the site control
- controls to Environment Agency guidelines
- complies with all relevant Acts of Parliament, codes of practice and regulations
- provides the required information for future owners of the site
- acts as site monitor for the agreed number of years
- controls any further knotweed contamination on the site for the agreed period.
Tax savings on land clean-up programmes
In this year’s Budget, the Government announced that from April 1 2009, Land Remediation Relief (LRR) will extend to money spent on site controls of Japanese Knotweed, but the reclaim of tax for landfill is to be removed.
